Ghar Ka Budget (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the website gharkabudget.com. This page explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding it.
Information we collect
We collect anonymous usage data only, through Google Analytics 4 (page views, calculator usage, city selections, time-on-page, approximate geographic location at country level). This data is aggregated and not tied to any individual identity.
We do not collect:
- Names, email addresses, or phone numbers (unless you contact us directly via email)
- Payment information — we do not currently process any payments on this site
- Account credentials — the site has no login functionality
- Property addresses or other identifying details from calculator inputs
Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
- Google Analytics cookies — standard
_gaand_gidcookies for anonymous usage analytics - Cloudflare functional cookies — used for security and CDN delivery; not used for tracking
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though this may affect some calculator state and the way our site loads. We do not use any advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or third-party tracking pixels.
Display advertising
This site does not currently display any third-party advertisements. If display advertising is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated with at least 30 days’ notice before any ads are served, and we will detail what cookies and data those advertisements use.
Third-party links
Our articles contain links to third-party websites such as government portals (cpwd.gov.in, mospi.gov.in, RERA portals), data providers (Steel Mint), and reference resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit through our links.
Email contact
If you email us at the address listed on our contact page, we will receive your email address and the contents of your message. We retain this only as long as needed to respond and follow up. We do not add email addresses to any marketing list without your explicit opt-in.
Data retention
Anonymous Google Analytics data is retained per Google’s default retention policy (currently 14 months). Email correspondence is retained for up to 24 months for support history, then deleted.
Your rights
If you have communicated with us by email and want your correspondence and any associated data deleted, contact us via the contact page and we will action your request within 30 days. For Google Analytics data, you can opt out site-wide by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest change. Material changes (such as introduction of advertising or new third-party data sharing) will be flagged with at least 30 days’ notice on our homepage before taking effect.
